This 2-day course empowers team leads, supervisors, managers and HR professionals with the communication and conflict resolution skills needed to manage employee relationships effectively. You’ll learn how to identify potential issues early, manage grievances with fairness, and facilitate negotiation meetings with confidence.

The course takes a practical, real-world approach using investigative frameworks and proven negotiation models such as Win-Win and BATNA (Best Alternative To a Negotiated Agreement). You’ll leave with tools to defuse tension, support healthy team dynamics, and strengthen employee engagement across departments.

  • Understand the scope of Singapore’s Employment Act, including entitlements, rights, and obligations for various employee categories.
  • Master best practices for investigation, evidence-gathering, and effective interviews to resolve workplace issues.
  • Learn the roles of tripartite partners such as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) in managing disputes and fostering fair employment practices.
  • Apply established frameworks like PACT for structured and effective grievance resolution.
  • Utilise proven negotiation models such as Fisher & Ury’s Principled Negotiation, BATNA, and Win-Win approaches for successful outcomes.
  • Gain practical experience through realistic workplace scenarios covering common issues such as discrimination, unfair dismissal, harassment, and salary disputes.
  • Develop techniques for transparent and defensible documentation and reporting of dispute resolutions.

Entry Requirements:

  • Aged 18 and above
  • Have basic computer literacy Level 2
  • Have minimum GCE “N”, “O” or “A” Level / NITEC or a diploma qualification and minimum 2 years of working experience;
  • Have an English language proficiency equivalent of higher of any of the following – GCSE N/O Levels pass in English / WPLN Level 5 / IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL (internet based total) 46-59.
